Maps: The main map, Summoner's Rift is a normal 5 verses 5 match. This means that there are 5 players on the blue side and 5 players on the purple side. The objective is to destroy the enemy nexus. The nexus is located on either side of the map guarded by 10 towers and 3 inhibitors. There are 6 neutral jungle camps inside the jungle, on either side of the map. There are the wraiths, wolves, wights (pronounced whites), golems, baron nasher, dragon, elder lizard, and the ancient golem. Each major jungle creep (listed above) are accompanied by other jungle creeps. The red rune (lizard buff) gives you bonus damage and an on-attack slow, used for physically attacking champions, and the blue rune (golem buff) gives you 10% cool down reduction on all your abilities and bonus mana regeneration, which is better used by champions heavily reliant on their abilities, like casters.
Gameplay: Playing the game is simple. Place your left hand on the buttons q,w,e,r and you thumb on the space bar. Put your right hand on your mouse and right click to where you want your champion to go. You can buy items at the shop, which is located in your base. Your abilities are activated by pressing q,w,e, or r. Your r ability is also know as your "ultimate" ability. There are 5 roles in the map summoner's rift. tank, attack damage carry, ability power carry, support, and the bruiser. The support and attack damage carry go bot, the bruiser goes jungle or top, the tank goes jungle or top, and the ability power carry goes mid. All of these roles are interchangeable. Each role has its own task or job. Sometime in the game all 5 members group up in mid lane and try to push, and when they fight, its known as a team fight. During a team fight all the roles have a specific job but the ultimate goal is to kill the carries. The bruiser or tank dives onto the attack damage carry or ability power carry. Your two carries usually stay in the back and stay safe behind the tank/bruiser. The support have "cc" abilities which stands for crowd control. Thees abilities either knock up, slow, root, stun, bind. etc. The support's job is to cc the carries so that your carries can easily kill then enemy carries.

Summary: Each champion has its own lore or back story. But each champion has it's own origin. For example, Jarvan is a tank/jungler and is from Demacia. There are about 13 different cities that the champions come from. Freljord, Zaun, Piltover, Bandle City, Bigwater, Ionia, Demacia, Noxus, The Shadow Isles, Shurima Desert, The Void, Mount Targon, and Independent champions.
Characters: As I already mentioned, Champions are the characters, but there are different types of Champions to play from. Assassin, fighter, mage, marksman, support, and the tank. Each champion has its own role and each champion has a counter. For example if your champion is a melee/fighter champion then your enemy could choose a range/marksman champion to counter you. But if you play safe, stay under your turret, and be patient you could potentially kill your opponent and take over the lane.
Best part: I think the best part about league of legends is the fact that you can choose over 110 champions and most of them don't overlap. By this I mean that they don't have anything in common so they are completely unique. I also like the fact that you can alter your champion by buying "skins". Skins change the appearance of your champion and can be bought with money.
Worst part: I think the worst part about the game is the fact that most games are extremely long compared to other games. On average, most games range from 30-50 minutes. This is extremely time consuming, and if you play about 7 games you have to go to sleep because its already 10:00 P.M.
Opinion/ratings: The game in general is fun and addicting but can consume your time with only a few games. Its a good game in general. Everything is balanced. I would rate it a 8/10 just because the games are VERY time consuming.
