Main Ideas: The book 'Percy Jackson and the lightning thief' is about Percy going on a quest to find who stole Zeus's master lightning bolt. The prized possession is a very important object as it is Zeus's weapon of choice.  He journeys with Annabeth and Grover to go after the thief to return Zeus's prized possession. During the adventure he faces many monsters and villains.

Summary:   Percy Jackson's life changed when he found out that he was being hunted my mythological creatures. He soon finds out that his best friend is a satyr and his teacher is a centaur. Above all this he finds out that he is a son of Poseidon and is being accused of stealing Zeus's master lightning bolt. Percy, Annabeth, and Grover embark on an adventure that will lead Percy and his friends to the depths of the underworld and even to Mount Olympus. Also I like how Rick Riordan mixed mythology with modern time.

Best part: The part that surprised me was when it was reviled that Luke was the one that stole the master lightning bolt. To think that a fellow camper stole the lightning bolt and kept it hidden without Zeus knowing is impressive. Also I found it amusing how the lightning bolt was just sitting on Zeus's throne, its as if he wanted it to be stolen. 

Worst part: I think the worst part about the book is that Luke was the person that stole the lightning bolt. When I first read the book, Luke was probably the last person on my list that could have stolen the lightning bolt. Also it shocked me when Hades found the lightning bolt in Percy's backpack.

My opinion: Overall the book was enjoyable and kept me on my feet the entire time. I like the fact that it mixes modern time with past time. There are many twists and turns through out the book, making it an fun and exciting experience. I would rate it a 10/10.

Music blog: Rap Eminem - MMLP2 album

Marshall Bruce Mathers III or Eminem is a rapper, songwriter, and an actor. He has won a Grammy Award for  rap. He is ranked 82nd our of 100 on the Rolling Stone magazine. Eminem sold about 80 million albums and over 120 million singles worldwide. In the United States however he sold 49 million albums and 42 million tracks. He founded The Marshall Mathers Foundation, a charity for disabled youths. Overall he is a  successful entertainer and is very popular. 

  Lyrics: As you may or may not already know, rap music is very long. The song 'Rap god' he spoke 100 words in about 15 seconds! The lyrics have absolutely no meaning in this song. They're just on going words talking about at least 45 different things in each verse. In about all the songs in the album, he says at least one curse word. Rap music isn't a good influence in young minds such as mine lyric wise.

Good things about Eminem: Things I like about Eminem and rap music in general are that the beat is interesting and I find it cool/funny how people can talk really fast If you take out the lyrics in rap music then you're left with cool rhythms, beats, and tunes. Take the song 'Monster'. If you take out the lyrics, you can get cool sound effects and noises. Have you ever tried to a song that is 1539 words? I think not, but Eminem has! His song 'Rap God' has exactly 1539 words and is sung in about 6 minutes. Only one thing left to say... WOW.

Bad things about Eminem: Some things just don't appeal to me, and rap music is one of them. Although Eminem can sing/rap really fast its not as interesting as other music genres like pop or R&B. The one thing that makes me hate rap music is the lyrics. The lyrics have nothing to do with the song! Usually the lyrics will have to do with drugs or going for girls and very rarely will you find a song that is rap and has actual lyrics that mean something. You will only find these kinds of songs if the rapper is partnered with a pop artist (like Monster). Another thing that makes me dislike rap is the length of songs. I hate songs that are over 3 minutes. They get dull and make me want to change the song. When tried to listen to the album I had to stop about 3 times and changed to a pop song then continued listing to the rest.

Overall rap music still isn't my favorite type of music. The lyrics have no meaning, go on forever, and make references to drugs and such. The fact that Eminem can rap/sing 100 words in 15 seconds amazes me but I still have no interest in rap music.
